Buying a Kia in Victoria

Kia sells strongly in Australia and its dealers compete on volume, so the driveaway figure on a given car is rarely fixed. It shifts with stock, with the time of month, and with how much a particular dealership wants your business that week.

Putting the same spec in front of several Victorian dealers at once is the quickest way to see that spread. You compare the offers, then deal only with the dealer you choose.

Petrol, hybrid or electric — check which you are quoting

Kia sells several nameplates in more than one drivetrain: Sportage and Sportage Hybrid, Sorento in petrol, Hybrid and PHEV forms, Carnival and Carnival Hybrid. They are listed separately when you request a quote, and it is worth being deliberate about which one you pick — the like-for-like comparison only works if every quote covers the same drivetrain.

A broad EV line-up

The EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6 and EV9 cover most of the electric range, from small SUV to seven-seater. On-road costs for EVs differ from petrol cars — stamp duty, registration concessions and any current incentives depend on the vehicle and on Victorian rules at the time of purchase. Those rules change, so confirm what applies with the dealer quoting you.

What "driveaway" should include

A driveaway price covers the vehicle, dealer delivery, stamp duty, registration and CTP — everything needed to have the car on the road. Check each quote is genuinely driveaway rather than a list price with costs added later. Dealers quoting through QuoteHound are asked for the driveaway figure so you are comparing like with like.
